Product Description

A lactic acid-forming bacterial species. Gram-positive rod (0.9 by 3.0 to 5.0μm in size), catalase positive, spore-forming, motile, and a facultative anaerobe. Metabolism prefers mesophilic temperature about 40℃, range of temperature is 30–55℃; and it grows in the pH range of 5.5 to 7.0. The spore formed Bacillus spp is more acid tolerant than pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms, good resistant to the high temperature, acidity and bile. Spores of B. coagulans are likely to survive at gastric pH and reach the intestine, where sporulation can occur. The animal or human gastric humidity can help the bacteria to transform from spore form to active state of being, and then produce peptidoglycan to coordinate this inactive/active metabolism.

Bacillus coagulans has been studied and used for a long time, even much before antibiotic discovery. It was regarded as the alternative medicine in a period for bacteria treatment. From the summarized study results:

🔬 Key Metabolic Functions of Bacillus coagulans
Oxygen Consumption & Anaerobic Support: Aerobic metabolism consumes oxygen to boost other anaerobic bacteria, especially friendly lactic acid bacteria. As part of its metabolic activity, it also produces organic acids to compete and inhibit the growth of pathogens.
Multi-Enzyme Production: Bacillus spp is able to produce multiple types of enzymes such as α-amylase, protease, lipase, cellulose, etc. These enzymes facilitate the working of other enzymes from the host animal or human body.
Vitamin B & Natural Antibiotics: Bacillus spp produces sufficient amounts of Vitamin B as well as different types of antibodies that work as antibiotics — including Iturin A, Chitinase, Gramicidin, Polymycin, Nystatin, etc. These work together with natural nutrition supplements and natural antibiotics.
L(+) Lactic Acid Production: Bacillus coagulans produces L(+) Lactic acid, supporting gut health and microbial balance.

Due to its strong surviving ability and comprehensive metabolic capacity, Bacillus spp has been widely used in the enzyme industry, animal nutrition and health, and environment control. It is a very popular ingredient in probiotic products for human consumption in regions such as America, Ukraine, and Italy. Bacillus coagulans is included in CFDA approved safe strains for human foods in China, and is also generally approved in the EFSA-QPS list as well as the US-GRAS list.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Bacillus coagulans and how does it differ from other probiotics?
Bacillus coagulans is a spore-forming, lactic acid-producing probiotic bacterium. Unlike many conventional probiotics, its spore form allows it to survive harsh conditions such as high temperatures, stomach acid, and bile salts, making it significantly more stable and effective at reaching the intestine alive compared to non-spore-forming strains.
Is Bacillus coagulans safe for human consumption?
Yes. Bacillus coagulans is recognized as safe by multiple international regulatory bodies. It is included in China's CFDA approved safe strains list for human foods, the European EFSA-QPS list, and the US-GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) list, confirming its safety for use in human food and dietary supplement products.
What is the viable cell count of your Bacillus coagulans product?
Our Bacillus coagulans product guarantees a viable cell count of ≥ 1.0 × 1011 CFU/g, ensuring a high-potency probiotic with sufficient live bacteria to deliver effective health benefits when used as directed.
In what applications can Bacillus coagulans be used?
Bacillus coagulans is highly versatile. It can be incorporated into pharmaceutical and healthcare products (capsules, tablets, sachets, drops), functional foods (gummies, hot drinks), animal nutrition products, animal feed, starter cultures, and aquaculture feeds — making it suitable for both human and animal health applications.
How should Bacillus coagulans be stored to maintain its potency?
For optimal preservation, Bacillus coagulans should be stored at -18°C in a well-sealed package, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Under these conditions, the product maintains its potency for at least 24 months. The spore form of the bacteria also contributes to its excellent stability during storage and processing.
What health benefits does Bacillus coagulans provide?
Bacillus coagulans offers a wide range of health benefits including gut health optimization (restoring microbial balance, enhancing digestion, reducing GI inflammation), immune system support, sports nutrition and muscle recovery, and metabolic support by helping maintain healthy blood lipid levels and balanced blood sugar/insulin responses.
