4-Chloro-3-methylbenzene-1,2-diamine hydrochloride (C₇H₁₀Cl₂N₂). This product is a white to off-white crystalline powder; odorless; almost non-hygroscopic. It is slightly soluble in methanol, sparingly soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in water, and soluble in N,N-dimethylformamide. The product is stable under dry and light-protected conditions, and susceptible to oxidative deterioration when exposed to strong oxidants.

Spectral and chromatographic characteristics and quality control: ① ¹H NMR (DMSO-d₆, 400 MHz) shows a methyl singlet at δ 2.25 in the high-field region, and aromatic proton signals at δ 6.85–7.20; ② HPLC (C18 column, mobile phase: methanol-0.05 mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution (30:70, v/v), pH adjusted to 3.0 with phosphoric acid, detection wavelength: 254 nm, flow rate: 1.0 mL/min, column temperature: 30 °C, injection volume: 20 μL): The retention time of the main peak is about 8.5 min; quality control requirements: main peak purity ≥ 99%, dechlorinated impurity ≤ 0.1%, other impurities ≤ 0.2%.
